The team at Ergomobility has been adapting vehicles for disabled motorists and passengers for over 20 years. Covering the South of England including Berkshire and Oxfordshire, we have four fully equipped mobile workshops operated by our qualified engineers and 3 purpose built  workshops in Sussex, together with a sales office in Reading.

Most of our business comes from car dealerships recommending their customers to us under the Motability scheme. We also work with customers that are not eligible for the Motability scheme but that need their vehicles adapting none the less.

Here are just a few reasons why we are the preferred adaptation specialist for over 800 Motability accredited car dealerships and their thousands of customers:

  • We always invest time in talking to a customer about their disability to understand at a detailed level how their disability or condition impacts on their ability to drive or travel in a vehicle.  Because we have been working with customers for over 20 years and finding solutions to sometimes quite complex challenges, we have built a level of knowledge and understanding that’s hard to find elsewhere. Ergomobility customers know they are in safe hands with us and that they can trust us.
  • We are not biased towards any one manufacturer. We have handpicked the leading manufacturers in our marketplace based on their ability to make superb quality parts and innovative adaptations that stand the test of time. We choose discreet controls for example whenever possible to improve a customer’s driving experience and our hoists and swivel seats are the best you can get – great news now that Motability have increased the funding contribution for many of these types of adaptations. When your vehicle has been adapted by Ergomobility you can rest assured that it has been adapted by qualified, time served engineers using the very best parts and kit available in the world today.
  • We don’t just see our role as adapting vehicles. With 20 years’ experience, our knowledge encompasses for example assessment advice, where to go to for familiarisation of new controls, which driving schools specialise in helping learner disabled drivers and more. We use this knowledge to benefit our dealers and our customers. We also run training and learning events for our dealers.
  • Rarely, if ever, do we decline an adaptation because it’s too complex or because some of the parts do not exist.  In these circumstances we will make the parts ourselves. If you’ve been told it can’t be done, contact us because there’s every chance it can!
